Segregation is the separation of different races in daily life where one race is treated better than the other.
Jim Crow Laws were in effect between 1876 and 1965.
Discrimination is the treatment towards or against a certain race or person.
Discrimination and segregation both involved the Jim Crow Laws.
WHY DO WE CARE??
People are people, whether they are black or white. They deserve the same treatment as everyone else.
Discrimination still occurs today and will always be a part of our society.

In 1947, Branch Rickey , Brooklyn's general manager, began the integration of the major leagues by bringing Jackie Robinson to the Dodgers. Weathering great pressure and the hatred of many players and fans, Robinson became one of the most amazing performers in the game, showing the way for other black stars like Willie Mays and Hank Aaron.
